Hi there,
I took your code and modified it some to support racial ability modifiers (including pre-canned versions for Core and Eberron races) and added a URL encoding feature for sharing point-buy builds with others.
You can see it here:

That’s very cool and much nicer than mine. Good job!
Thanks for this. I’ve used it three times in the last week to make some quick characters. Nice tool.
Hello there I just love the stuff you have here on the site, but where I game we don’t have an internet connection (the room is basically encased in metal so no wireless signal gets through) so I was wondering if it was possible to download some of these programs?
Pffh- There’s an easy way to run this program from your pc directly. Right click on the page and click “Save page as”. This will let you save the whole page to your hard drive. Then just open the page and you can run the script without being connected to the internet.
A few oversights with this tool – for one, lowering a stat below 8 does not actually grant further points. So while I applaud the idea, I can’t offer any praise unless it adheres more closely to the system rules.
The rules of the system for point buy have 8 as the lowest stat. The reason this page doesn’t support a stat below 8 giving further points is precisely BECAUSE it adheres closely to the system rules.
4th edition rules have changed the point buy systems, this array shows a 4th edition 22 point array as costing 30 points. Just an FYI, in case you want to make an updated version, or at least label this one as 3e only.
Ok, I have changed the title. I do have one for 4th edition here-

noouu! it does not calculate points for me! something is wrong, and thats bad, becasue I love this calculator!
Oops, sorry about that. I turned off a plugin that causes the js to break without it. It should be working now.
