    There are a few changes that I think should be made to this list for game purposes and a few I would want for myself as a point of accuracy.

    The parts that should be changed for game purposes:
    1. Add 1 more level of armor (between plate and mail or above plate)
    2.Shields should provide ‘cover’ as per the SW rules (keep main gauche as is)
    3. Light Flails should weigh 4 lbs
    4. Spears need to require 2 hands or a d6 Str
    5. Weapons that require d8 Str should be wielded in 2 hands at d6 Str

    As a point of history and accuracy:
    1. Mail (there was never anything called ‘chain mail’) weighed only a little less than Plate when it was worn as a full suit with a gambeson underneath and a Jupon over it. For this reason I would replace ‘Chain Mail’ with ‘Light Mail’ and Plate With Heavy Mail and then Make Plat weigh the same but cost a lot more. In the early days of plate it was still a lot of Mail with Plates added and very expensive and rare. You could add Gothic Plate which would be lighter but just as good protection
    2. Swords were, on average, heavier than axes, maces, and flails (but faster due to weighting) and their names need correction for the stats given
    Short sword= Arming sword or just ‘sword’
    Long Sword= Sword of War or again just ‘sword’ (long swords were light two handed weapons 3-4lbs or so)- See German Langes Shwert as a reference
    3. Lances should make attacks the way missile weapons do when making a mounted charge or at least not parryable by anything less than a 2 handed weapon or shield

    I made this list back when SW first came out. Things have changed since then and I wouldn’t use this list anymore myself.

      What list are you using? I’ve seen the new weapons and armor, but I think yours is far better.

        I haven’t played SW in years so I’m not using anything at the moment. I’d probably just use the equipment as given in the fantasy companion now days. It’s not perfect but what is? SW is really too abstract to get realistic with.
